About Naturopath Natalie
A bit about me...
I first discovered natural medicine nearly 20 years ago. I have always loved being outdoors, and as an avid surfer, I spend a lot of time in the ocean and elements. Long stints in the ocean require a lot of energy but at that time I was often feeling weak and light headed due to what I now know were poor dietary choices. Lack of energy didn't allow me to stay in the water as long as I wanted so I started looking at my diet for solutions.
I developed a curiosity about healthy, nutritious food, and the benefits of adding herbs to my meals. Also around this time I was searching for a vocation that mentally stimulated me as well as fitting in with my love for nature. And so I discovered naturopathy. The principles of using food as daily medicine, employing positive lifestyle habits and using plants to help with my health made so much sense to me.
I started my studies in 2002, at South Pacific College of Natural Therapies and obtained a Bachelor of Health Science, an Advanced Diploma of Herbal Medicine, an Advanced Diploma of Naturopathy and Certificate in Bach Flowers.
Since then, I have worked in Auckland, London and Raglan helping clients realize their health goals. I feel privileged to have been able to use my knowledge and along with my client’s commitment, be able to see the improvements in their health and well being.
Of particular areas of interest to me are gut health and hormonal health. Over the last few years I have attended many seminars on digestive health and I've been doing a SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) masterclass. I have also attended many seminars and webinars on female hormonal issues.
Working with many people with different conditions, I realised that some of their health issues could be resolved by changing the way that they thought about them. I have always been fascinated with the mind/body connection and power of the mind. I did my NLP (neuro linguistic programming) practitioner course in 2019 and now can offer that to clients that would like to maximise their potential by working on any limiting beliefs they may have had.
I am inspired by the continual research and development of natural health; how science is now confirming and building on the therapeutic benefits of a healthy balanced diet, and the use of herbs and supplements. The natural world is a fascinating place and offers many wonderful remedies to help us with our ailments and well being.
I find it a pleasure to be able to pass on the information I have acquired, from the latest scientific research to age-old wisdom, to help heal through natural medicine.
